What Is Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA)?
SFMA is a classification system designed to help locate movement faults that may lead to over use injuries over time. By analyzing some of our basic movements such as (bending, twisting, squatting, breathing) the clinician may be able to identify meaningful impairments that could contribute to your underlying musculoskeletal complaint.
Often times previous injury, muscle imbalances and faulty movement patterns can lead to overuse and breakdown of tissues. The movement assessment helps our doctors locate those patterns and provides a custom exercise plan. The SFMA is more focused on quality of movement rather then quantity.
